Multiplayer VR duelling game Broken Edge launched the other day on Quest 2 and PC VR.
Established by Trebuchet and released by Quick Travel Games, the multiplayer title is readily available for $9.99 on the Mission store and Steam. The game includes 1v1 fantasy dueling, with a range of classes to choose from, each with their own strengths, weak points and weapons. You can take a look at the new (and appropriately remarkable) launch trailer, ingrained above.
We had the ability to try the video game out previously this year at Gamescom. In our impressions piece, we went over the game’s special system to manage virtual swordfights:
A clash of swords in Broken Edge has a clear result– if player one slashes through player 2’s weapon, it gets broken off at the point of effect. Player two is entrusted a maimed, but still functional, weapon– the titular ‘Broken Edge’, if you will. Your weapon ends up being similar to a health bar and once it’s diminished down to simply the hilt, you just have one last chance to counter versus a fatal blow.
You can read our full hands-on from Gamescom here.
Trebuchect and Quick Travel Games state that the very first major material update for Broken Edge will show up just a few days after launch, on November 21. That update will “introduce an enhanced Training mode, voice chat, in-game leaderboards for online ranked mode, a new arena for the Persian fighter, and more.”
Broken Edge is readily available now for $9.99 on Mission 2, Mission Pro and PC VR by means of Steam, with assistance for cross-platform play online. Keep an eye out for our complete evaluation, which will be readily available at some point next week.
